Medical Assistance Program

The Medical Assistance program is designed to help you learn and fulfill the duties of a medical assistant. These include clinical duties, such as preparing patients for physician examination, assisting during exams, instructing patients regarding their medication and diet, taking blood pressure, and many others. The duties of a medical assistant also include administrative duties such as answering telephones in a polite and professional manner, filing and updating patient medical records, filling out paperwork for insurance and many others. Click here to learn more about this program.

Rural Health Worker Program

Rural Health Worker – a program designed to help students learn and fulfill the duties of a rural health worker.  A rural health worker is a community member trained to meet both the basic medical needs as well as environmental health for people living in rural areas in low and middle-income countries where access to medical care is limited or none. Clinical duties here include diagnosis and treatment of minor common medical problems, minor surgery, child care including vaccination schedule for children, providing routine gynecology care, chronic care for conditions such as high blood pressure and diabetes, and finally managing emergencies until patients are transferred to the nearest medical facility. Click here to learn more about this program.
