Want to Become A Volunteer?

At Teach Me Medicine, there are so many ways to get involved by volunteering your time, skills, and passion for medicine.

Here are just four of the many ways to get involved:

Mentor

Becoming a mentor is one of the most rewarding experiences a volunteer can have. Mentors are physicians, physicians assistants, or medical assistants that volunteer their time to help an individual through their respective program.

The duties of a mentor are as follows:

  • Proctor the exams for the protege with integrity, honesty, and professionalism
  • Train the protege in the required hands-0n skills necessary for the protege’s future profession
  • Value the protege as a person with mutual respect and trust
  • Help to solve problems the protege may face, either practically or academically
  • Focus on the protege’s progress and development
  • Allow the protege to become their own medical professional

Site Maintenance

With Teach Me Medicine hosting online programs, the need for site maintenance is very great. Volunteers with website-editing and problem solving experiences are extremely crucial to the success of the programs.

The duties of a site maintenance volunteer are as follows:

  • Have prior experience in website editing, basics in coding, and development
  • Solve problems that may arise due to technical issues
  • Work with integrity and professionalism

Local Ambassador

Becoming a local ambassador is easy – just have a passion for people! Volunteers who become local ambassadors will spread the word about Teach Me Medicine to their local communities and promote the need for more volunteers, partner clinics, and sponsors.

The duties of a local ambassador are as follows:

  • Promote Teach Me Medicine to local clinics, businesses, and potential mentors
  • Be very knowledgeable about the program, as well as the statistics displaying the need for better healthcare in developing countries
  • Have a passion for the individuals in developing countries in need of better medical care
  • Have good communication skills and a way to relay that passion to individuals during promotions

Corporate Sponsor

Corporate sponsors are very important to Teach Me Medicine. While our organization is completely non-profit, there are still costs associated with developing and operating our programs. Corporate sponsors can provide for this need entirely, and by doing so, provide for individuals in developing countries to learn and become certified as a medical professional in order to better serve their community and provide more healthcare opportunities to their nations. If you have a heart for people and the medical care of those in underserved areas, please consider becoming a corporate sponsor for Teach Me Medicine!
