Suturing, Splinting, and Casting

This duty entails the following:

  • Suturing lacerations and wounds for patients either in an emergency setting or following a procedure
  • Splinting patients’ limbs to prevent further damage to the effected area
  • Casting of patient’s limbs to prevent further damage to the effected area
  • Dealing gently with and communicating sensitively with patients during suturing, splinting, and casting procedures
  • Conducting one’s self in a polite and professional manner at all times with patients
