Medicine Clerkship

The first year clerkships starts with the first day of medical school. Here students will learn about universal precautions before they enter hospitals and clinics for their clerkships. Emergency Care Training will prepare them to get involved as a team member in emergency situations as the arise. They will learn many procedures this year as they complete their first year curriculum from how to obtain blood pressure to some of the more advanced procedures outlined below:

  1. Medicine Curriculum
  2. Universal Precautions
  3. Vital Signs
  4. Venipuncture and starting IV lines
  5. History and Physical Examination
  6. Electrocardiogram
