Rheumatology is an unusual branch of medicine in that it combines Internal Medicine with Orthopedics which is a surgical specialty. Rheumatologists deals with over 100 forms of Arthritis and Rheumatic Diseases. These include both acute and chronic pain, stiffness, swelling, and deformity involving bones, joints, muscles, and tendons. Medical conditions that are treated by a Rheumatologist include musculoskeletal conditions, various forms of Arthritis, Rheumatic Diseases, and Bone Diseases. Rheumatologists are often the last specialist you see when all the other doctors tried to diagnose your condition or get you pain better and could not.
Telemedicine
Our Telemedicine Case Review Services is now six years old. We started this service using an ipad and very little has changed over the last six years except for the internet speed that has increased tremendously as well as high definition cameras allowing for much greater detail while viewing x-ray and MRI imaging. Telemedicine can be done using iPhone, iPad, Tablets, and other smart phones as well as laptops and desktop computers with a webcam. We use Skype for our Telemedicine Service since we find it to be most reliable and easiest for patients to use. To use our service you will need high speed internet and a Skype account.
Telemedicine can be scheduled on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. To initiate a case review, please email us a very brief history about your medical problem(s), your Time Zone or geographic area, and let us know which of the above days will be more convenient for you. Please do not include your medical records or personal information unless you are using a secure email. We will review your case and will contact you as soon as possible.
